So when a table tells you Rat and Horse clash, it is not inventing that. The Rat branch and the Horse branch genuinely sit opposite each other in the cycle of twelve earthly branches, and opposite branches do produce a particular kind of tension. The error is treating one branch pair as the whole relationship when your animal sign is roughly one eighth of your chart.

Put plainly. The mechanic is real, the shortcut is not, and the shortcut is what most people have been handed.

How do earthly branches combine and clash?
